O grande vencedor da noite foi Boyhood, do diretor Richard Linklater, com três globos: Diretor, Filme e Atriz Coadjuvante (Patricia Arquette). Parece ter valido à pena filmar por 12 anos o longa que acompanha a juventude do personagem Mason (Ellar Coltrane).

Entre as séries, destaque para Transparent, uma produção da Amazon que chegou de mansinho, mas arrebatou os prêmios de melhor série de comédia e de ator para Jeffrey Tambor. A séria acompanha a história de Mort (Tambor), que reúne seus filhos para revelar seu segredo e se assumir como transgênero.
